Spring is bustin' out all over in Norway, and sunny weather over most of the country helped make April one of the warmest on record. The sunshine spurred this man to try his fishing luck along Oslo's waterfront.
Boat traffic on the Oslo Fjord is steadily increasing as folks flock outdoors to enjoy the warm spring weather.
Oslo's waterfront was full of people strolling in the warm weather over the weekend. Helene Teigland and Gunnbjørge Lindjord brought along their own coffee to enjoy outdoors.
The ancient walls and park areas at the historic Akershus Fortress also attracted people keen to soak up the sunshine.
This was just one of many pleasure craft out on the Oslo Fjord on Sunday.
A footrace through Oslo called
Sentrumsløpet is an annual rite of spring in the capital. Here, the runners make their way through the Frogner Park.
The footrace started started Sunday on Oslo's main drag, Karl Johan's Gate.
The park around the Royal Palace in Oslo gives local residents a real taste of spring. The grass is turning green, and birch trees are sprouting new leaves, along with pollen.
Hundreds of crocus bulbs planted last autumn are also sprouting forth in the Royal Palace's park, a special floral decoration to mark 100 years of Norway's sovereignty.
The crocus bulbs are now in full bloom, some of them in geometrical patterns featuring different colors.
Queen Sonja herself swapped the crocus views from her home inside the palace for the mountain majesty of Hardanger late last week. She said she felt like she was sitting inside a painting, as she helped kick off Norwegian agriculture's celebration of the country's centennial.
Queen Sonja sipped cider with Agriculture Minister Lars Sponheim during her visit to scenic Hardanger, where spring is also in full bloom.
