Kellogg's has been Coop's major supplier of breakfast cereals and other products. Coop Norden officials say they failed, however, to renew a satisfactory purchasing deal with Kellogg's, after negotiations bogged down in a quarrel over prices and delivery terms.
"Kellogg's hasn't wanted to meet our demands for deliveries to all Coop stores in Denmark, Norway and Sweden," Coop executive Allan Agerskov told news bureau NTB. "We therefore don't want to sell any of their products."
Coop officials say they will now start relying on house-brand breakfast cereals and other suppliers.
