Existing protective duties will be replaced by the new measure.
The Commission stressed that the duties are an interim solution and that their investigation of possible price dumping practices by Norwegian salmon companies will continue - and may lead to 'permanent' punitive duties lasting up to five years.
The Commission nevertheless considers the arrangement 'fully justified' and taken on the basis of a completely objective process.
