The municipality of Lillesand and nearby residents have long wanted the naked truth of Isefjær camp activities better hidden from the eyes of children or those with more conventional habits, newspaper Fædrelandsvennen reports.

Last year a provisional buffer was put up by the nudists, but the screens went down in a strong wind.

Permanent shielding is planned, but requires new regulations for the area. While the bureaucratic process continues, the unclothed have decided to provide a fig leaf by trying another interim solution - planting runner beans at the foot of the existing screens.

Head nudist Magne Nodeland said that the runner beans can grow as high as four to five meters in a season, and has white flowers.

"This will hinder most of the possible "transparency" for passersby and the flower pots themselves will reduce possible views for those who might creep along the barrier," said Nodeland in a letter to authorities.

Officials like the idea and hope that the plants will both improve and block the current view.
