The Socialist Left (SV) Party continues to make headlines with their relatively radical profile as part of the governing left-center coalition with partners the Labor and Center parties.
"SV is a socialist party. We believe that more power to the working people is good for companies and employees," SV's parliamentary leader Inge Ryan told NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting).
The party will therefore propose to parliament that the existing Companies Act be changed so that a greater transfer of power from shareholders to employees can be carried out.
Stock exchange director Sven Arild Andersen said that the proposal is stupid and unrealistic and predicts an investor stampede out of Norwegian companies if the idea becomes law.
