A group of Christians in Bergen and two immigrant groups from Østfold County filed complaints after the controversial comic burned a bible in Ålesund while filming "Rikets Røst" (Voice of the Nation).

Sunnmøre district police lawyer Gudrun Kalavatn told newspaper VG that there were three reasons for the decision to drop the investigation on Monday afternoon.

Police said the decision was taken on the grounds of free speech, that the act was not expressly forbidden by law, and that there were more pressing cases demanding police resources.
