Snow, sleet and summer tires added up to chaos on assorted roads in southern Norway on Thursday. The wintry precipitation fell at higher altitudes and caused a series of accidents, though no serious injuries were reported.
A man was taken to Oslo's Ullevål University Hospital after he skidded off Highway 4 in Oppland County and crashed into the trunk of a spruce tree.
A motorist in the Røros area ended up with a car in the river, and there were other relatively dramatic accidents, which can be seen in this pictorial.
