Police had launched massive searches for the missing pathologist after a 37-year-old man was found driving Bermudez' car. The 37-year-old was arrested, suspected of having murdered the doctor and stolen his car, which was splattered with what proved to be the doctor’s blood.

Bermudez was last seen late on the night of Sunday January 14 at the London Pub, a bar that caters to homosexuals in Oslo. He never returned to his job at Radiumhospitalet in west Oslo.

Bermudez was openly gay and is believed to have had a relationship with the 37-year-old, who's from Trøndelag. The pair were viewed as friends, and had been on vacation together.

The doctor's partially wrapped body was found under melting snow in the valley called Sørkedalen, west of the popular trail heads at Skansebakken.

Police described the cause of death as beating with a blunt instrument. The 37-year-old suspect has refused to speak to police investigators for weeks.
