Palace spokeswoman Wenche Rasch said they planned to remain at Norway's National Hospital (Rikshospitalet) another night. They were expected to participate in an official ceremony to thank hospital staff when they finally set a course for their Oslo flat on Saturday.

Maud Angelica Behn was born Tuesday night and already has received a string of visitors. Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit were expected to fly in from London on Saturday.

The baby had her first meeting with the press at midday on Friday, but slept through most of it. Princess Martha Louise said she herself was in good shape and that the birth itself wasn't more exhausting than she had expected.

"Everything really is fantastic, wonderful," she told reporters, taking the opportunity to express thanks for the congratulations and good wishes that have poured in since Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a new poll indicates that 66 percent of Norwegians like the name Princess Martha Louise and Ari Behn selected for their daughter.

The poll, conducted by Omnijet for newspaper VG, questioned 977 people. Twenty percent said they didn't like the name, while 14 percent said they had no opinion.

Those taking part in the poll also were asked whether they agreed with King Harald's decision that Maud Angelica won't be granted the title of "princess." Seventy percent said they supported the royal decree, while 15 percent disagreed.
