Google Inc, based in California, won a patent to its brand name in Norway a few years ago, but the domain "google.no" was already registered to a Nowegian company called SMSFUN AS.

They've used the site to peddle sunglasses, undoubtedly gaining heavy traffic from Google search engine users who typed in "google.no" instead of "google.com."

Google of California wasn't happy and filed suit, losing in the first round to a court ruling that found SMSFUN AS in its full rights to use the web address.

An appeals court has now overturned that decision, clearing the way for Google Inc to put its famous search engine at "google.no." SMSFUN was given two weeks to turn over the site to the Californians.
