Many athletes make a point of getting out of their sweaty racing gear as soon as possible, to avoid getting a chill.
"We do this so we won't get sick," skier Vibeke Skofterud told newspaper VG. She felt she had to bend down and use a sweater to shield herself from the cameras that kept rolling after she finished a race on Saturday.
Skofterud also got reaction from friends and family back home who saw the live coverage on TV. The German producers have responsibility for the coverage from the World Championships at Oberstdorf.
"I heard that there had apparently been a lot of stripping shown on TV," said Skofterud, adding that she thinks it's a bit more important to focus on skiers crossing the finish line than those changing clothes.
Skiing star Marit Bjørgen, who has won two medals in the World Championships so far, also felt the cameras got a bit too "up close and personal" over the weekend, as did skiing federation officials.
Bjørnar Håkensmoen called the TV coverage "hopeless," and complained to the German producers. Chief producer Thomas Strobl didn't think his camera crews crossed the line, but said he told one not to film so closely.
